According to a recent report by The Sun, last season’s Champions League runners-up Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for French international full-back Lucas Digne in the summer, as they try to put an end to the inconsistent displays put up by both Danny Rose and Ben Davies.
The Everton man has been in blistering form since making the switch from Barcelona prior to the start of last season.
The left-back didn’t really ever get a proper shout while at the Camp Nou and since making the move across the English Channel, his form has taken a massive turn for the better.
He showcased some excellent talents and abilities on the ball and his defending skills improved quite a lot too. His contributions were vital to the Toffees’ progress under Marco Silva last season.
Tottenham have grown to become one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Despite their best efforts, however, they weren’t able to beat Liverpool in Madrid and they will be looking to bounce back and create history by trying to challenge for the league title this season.
Moving for someone with the quality of Digne could solve a part of their squad’s concerns next season.
Tottenham do have a couple of decent options in the left-back role. But neither Ben Davies nor Danny Rose has been able to cement a place in the side. Their flanks lacked attacking creativity over the last few weeks of the season and it certainly cost them quite a bit.
Digne’s first season in the Premier League has been nothing short of spectacular and he’s taken the English game by storm. His contributions to the Toffees’ cause has been pivotal to all the good performances that they produced over the campaign.
His darting runs down the flank have been glorious to watch while his ability to beat a man with relative ease should ring fear in the heart of any defender he’s facing.

Able to hold his defensive position extremely well, he has certainly been the Toffees’ most influential signing of the season. His numbers in the league read 4 goals and 4 assists from 35 games – more than enough to motivate Spurs to move for his services.
Although the Toffees are said to be keen on procuring Danny Rose in exchange for the Frenchman (h/t The Sun), the side from north London needn’t have a second thought about making this deal a reality.
