Three players Arsenal could sell to finance a move for Andre Gomes
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is quite keen on signing Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes for a fee worth £30m. To do so, the Spaniard might need to offload some of his supposedly fringe players to finance the deal. One can only imagine the eagerness of a manager desperate to get players according to his own choice.
However, with the signings made thus far, Arsenal must sell some of their players to get Gomes’ deal over the line. So, here are three players who could be offloaded by the Gunners to generate money to sign the Barcelona star.
Carl Jenkinson
Since joining the Emirates in 2011, Jenkinson hasn’t been part of regular first-team football action. Injuries have blighted his career so far and perhaps it is time for Arsenal to sanction a sale.
With Stephan Lichtsteiner and Hector Bellerin in the mix, there seems to be no way back for the Englishman. Hence, Arsenal will profit by selling him and gaining some valuable money for getting deals done.
Alex Iwobi
Iwobi is one those talents who impressively emerged from the Arsenal academy but hasn’t been able to grasp first-team opportunities with both hands. Arsene Wenger kept providing him with chances to improve but the 22-year-old is far too inconsistent.
New manager Unai Emery must not be as lenient since he cannot afford to have a player who does not deliver. Hence, it will be clever from Arsenal’s point of view to sell the player for a decent amount of money, as he is still a hot prospect for the future.

David Ospina
Bernd Leno’s presence could push either David Ospina or Petr Cech out of the club this summer. Wenger preferred the latter as the first-choice in the league with the former playing in cup competitions.
On that note, Emery may also be tempted to keep the Czech and sell the Colombian. It will make more sense as Ospina is only 29 years of age and will probably generate more money if offloaded.
