3 PL clubs who’d benefit by signing free agent Jack Wilshere
It’s hard to believe that Jack Wilshere would be without a club at the age of 28. Once touted to be the future of English football z, it has been a steep fall for the former Arsenal prodigy. People can’t really blame him as repeated injuries have taken a toll on him and he has never been the same since.
While Wilshere may not be able to strut around his stuff like old times, he still remains a decent player with bags of Premier League and Champions League experience. There are plenty of mid-table or lower-placed Premier League clubs that could use a player of his talents. Below, we take a look at 3 such clubs.
1. Southampton
The Saints are direly in need of midfielders after the exits of Mario Lemina, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harrison Reed. They did bring in Ibrahima Diallo but he is too young to be shouldering so much responsibility.
Nonetheless, Southampton need a creative midfielder and even if it’s on a short term, the club can look towards Wilshere. As a free agent, the risk involved is significantly less and the club can take a punt on him.
2. Leeds United
Premier League new boys Leeds have started life well in top-flight and have done some decent business to back that up. However, there do remain some areas of improvement. One of them is central midfield.
They have some decent options in the likes of Mateusz Klich, Adam Foreshaw, Jamie Shackleton, Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez. Problem is, quite a few of them are either approaching 30 or are past it. Snapping up Wilshere would give them a good, experienced option to deal with the rigours of the Premier League.
3. Burnley
A team that perhaps lacks a genuine creative midfielder or a number 10 as we can say. Burnley are not the most pleasing to watch in terms of playing style. They rely a lot on their solid defending to see out games.

The club should surely look to add someone as creative as Wilshere. The Englishman is a deft passer of the ball with decent dribbling to back that. With finances tight in these times, signing Wilshere on a free can be one of the better decisions they could make.
