Three reasons why Liverpool extending Klopp’s contract is a great move
Jurgen Klopp recently extended his contract as Liverpool manager until 2024, having re-established the team’s elite status in England and Europe.
Klopp arrived at Liverpool in October 2015 and led the team to finish as runners-up in the Champions League (2018), the UEFA Europa League and the Carabao Cup (both 2016). The Reds beat Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 on June 1st to seal their first major trophy since 2012 and their 6th Champions League title.
The team also finished one point off Premier League champions Manchester City in May and accumulated club-record points for one season.

Dominance
Liverpool have failed to build on previous second-place finishes in 08/09 and 13/14 but this time, it feels different. All the conditions are there for this to be a new era of sustained success. And already, Klopp looks like he will be adding one more trophy to the cabinet at Anfield.
After 17 games, Liverpool have gone on to accumulate a mammoth 49 points and have dropped only 2. They have won 16 of those games and only drew against rivals Manchester United. Title-holders Manchester City are having a poor season in comparison and the title race looks all but in the bag for Klopp.
Transfers
Klopp joined in October 2015 and has built one of the best English teams. Salah, Mane, Van Dijk, Alisson and Robertson all signed for Liverpool under Klopp and have gone on to become vital cogs in his set-up.
Salah, in particular, has been phenomenal since his return to the Premier League after a mediocre spell with Chelsea. Now that the manager has signed an extension, it will provide Liverpool with some stability for pursuing future transfer targets.
Improvements within the squad
As Klopp has shown in the past, he often looks within his squad to find creative solutions to fix problems rather than delve into the transfer market.
While Liverpool could do with a new creative midfielder this summer, the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are capable of plugging that gap.
Oxlade-Chamberlain demonstrated his ability to add a cutting edge to the midfield prior to his injury in 2017/18, with his driving runs from deeper areas and ability to take opponents out the game with his speed and direct play.
Klopp is known to promote young talent and players like Rhian Brewster are also in the mix. Thus, Liverpool extending his contract certainly strikes all the right chords.
