This is a full RPG game loosely based on the Peter Jackson films. It has a traditional turn-based battle system. You can explore the world including Durin’s tower, the Black Gate, the Mirkwood forest, Isengard, Mordor,  or Minas Tirith in a third-person perspective. Players can choose from different factions like the armies of Gondor, Isengard or Rohan while battling. It has great visuals and a beautiful story. It is arguably one of the best RPGs of the Tolkien universe with a Metacritic rating of 73%.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Shadow of War is a sequel to the game Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor. With the foundations set in the previous game, Shadow of War does a great job of expanding the story to a large scale adventure. Players have to defeat the Dark Lord Sauron by infiltrating enemy lines. Talion the Ranger captain whose family was murdered by the Black Hand of Sauron leads the campaign. It has some microtransactions that the players must be aware of. Despite this, the game is a masterpiece and one of the latest ones on the series. It scored 75% on Metacritic.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Battle For Middle-Earth II: The Rise Of The Witch-King (PC)

The Witch-King is a popular character among movie fans. With a dope name like this, fans don’t have much information about him. This game expands on that character and introduces Sauron’s deadliest fighters. They also improved on the original game by offering tweaks and small quality of life improvements. It has a good and evil campaign system to choose different paths. The real-time strategy element to fight the forces of Sauron is an exciting addition. It scored 84% on Metacritic.
