Toni Storm made her departure from WWE today. These can be the 5 possible reasons behind the decision
The possible reason for Toni Storm’s shock WWE departure has been reported with budget cuts, but that may not be the real reason for her exit.
Storm is the first non-Japanese wrestler to hold its world title. Toni has also held Stardom’s SWA World Championship for a record-setting reign of 612 days. She challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Day 1. She also became the second-ever NXT UK Women’s Champion in January 2019.
Toni Storm left WWE just days after challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, which she apparently lost.
According to Cassidy Haynes of bodyslam.net,
Since she was the one who came at the request of departure and even paid for the flight tickets from her own pocket on her way back home.
“Turns out, Toni didn’t exactly request her release… she just up and quit. Worked a triple threat at a house show last night and then paid out of her own pocket to fly herself home.”
1. One of the main reasons can be due to burnout.
Since WWE is very well known for its extensive work culture and no such free days,” Burn Out” can be one of the reasons that she made her own departure from the company.
2. Toni Storm left the business for some other promotions
There can be another reason behind her departure: she might have got a better opportunity from other promotions like AEW, where there is more freedom.
3. Storm will likely enjoy the break from wrestling
Recently she talked about not wanting to wrestle more often and do some catering, and now since WWE is treating this as a release, she cant wrestle for 90 days as a part of WWE’s clause. So she can now enjoy her stay at home and maybe do some catering as well.
4. There can be some medical or mental health issues
We recently saw Jeff Hardy leaving a match in the middle and disappearing into the crowds out of nowhere due to mental health issues. That might be the case with Storm as well.
She might be going through some mental health issues and took this surprising step of quitting.
5. Not satisfied with companies wages
It can be said that maybe there is a tiny chance that Storm was not satisfied with the wages that WWE was offering and maybe wanted more.
Storm was one of the eighty wrestlers released by WWE this year.
