Drew Gulak took up a new role on this week’s episode of SmackDown. He strived to become a member of the broadcast team and his first interview was with Madcap Moss. Later in the night, he infuriated Charlotte Flair and found himself in Figure 8 before screaming “I Quit” to the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

5. Drew Gulak has a great bond with many fellow wrestlers

The 34-year-old Drew Gulak is friends with Matt Riddle, Timothy Thatcher, Orange Cassidy, Dany Havoc, Tracy Williams, and Oney Lorcan.

The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gulak even paid a tribute to Dany Havoc during his Intercontinental Championship match against AJ Styles.

4. Gulak has been trained by some big names on the pro-wrestling circuit

Chris Hero, Mike Quackenbush, and Skayde are three of Gulak’s coaches and all three have been quite successful on the independent circuit.

Hero has worked as a producer for Ring of Honor and his wrestling career saw him having two stints in WWE. In the first stint, he wrestled under the name Kassius Ohno and during the second stint, he worked as a player-coach for the trainees in NXT and NXT UK.

Quackenbush wrestled in various promotions and won multiple titles during his tenure. Skayde is a Mexican luchador and is known for training a large number of wrestlers and a few names are Orange Cassidy, Taku Iwasa, Star Fire, and STIGMA.

3. Drew Gulak’s younger brother was also a wrestler

Drew’s younger brother Rory was also a wrestler who worked on the independent circuit. Rory works at the WWE’s Performance Center.

In June 2008, Rory made his professional debut vs. his brother Drew Gulak at CZW’s Summer School as Little Mondo. Rory graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA.

2. Drew Gulak is a 9-time Champion in WWE

Drew Gulak won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on one occasion when he beat Akira Tozawa and Tony Nese in a triple-threat match at the 2019 Stomping Grounds.

Gulak is a former 8-time WWE 24/7 champion and won the Slammy Award for the Most Creative 24/7 Pin of the Year in 2020 when he dressed as a janitor on RAW.

1. Drew Gulak was ranked #60 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2020

Drew Gulak was ranked #60 in the list of top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in the year 2020. This was an appreciable ranking for the former CZW World Heavyweight Champion.

It will be interesting to see for how long Gulak will continue to portray the broadcaster character. Fans would love to see him wrestle sooner rather than later.
