This week the news of Liv Morgan making her film debut broke out and many WWE Superstars congratulated her. In this article, we will take a look at 5 WWE Superstars who have appeared in films.
5 – Triple H
The Cerebral Assassin is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He recently retired from in-ring competition but still has an important role to play in shaping up the future of WWE. However, he has had some serious health issues which require a good amount of rest and recovery.
The Game appeared in movies like The Chaperone and Blade: Trinity. It seemed as if he was destined for a long run in Hollywood but eventually he chose WWE and wrestling fans never complained.
Triple H is a 9-time WWE Champion and a 5-time World Heavyweight Champion. He has also won the Intercontinental Championship on five occasions and the European Championship twice. He is also a 3-time Tag Team Champion in WWE.
4 – Kane
WWE Hall of Famer Kane is one of the best gimmicks of all time. Played quite brilliantly by Glenn Jacobs. He used to terrify young fans but you always wanted more of him. Just like horror movies.
Kane fittingly chose a horror film called See No Evil to make his debut in 2006. He reprised the role of psychopath Jacob Goodnight in the 2014 sequel.
The Big Red Machine is a former WWF Champion, a World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Champion, WCW Tag Team Champion, 2-time Intercontinental Champion, Hardcore Champion, 24/7 Champion, and also won the Tag Team title on eleven occasions.
3 – Batista
Dave Bautista who wrestled in WWE under the ring name Batista was a very successful wrestler during the Ruthless Aggression Era. He had many memorable matches with the likes of Triple H, The Undertaker, John Cena, and many more. He also had a great physique from the time he debuted in WWE.
Batista made his acting debut back in 2006. He has starred in many films like The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), Riddick (2013), the James Bond film Spectre (2015), and more recently Army of the Dead (2021), and Dune (2021). He is also a prominent figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as, Drax.
In WWE, Batista is a two-time WWE Champion and a 4-time World Heavyweight Champion. He is also a 4-time Tag Team champion.
2 – John Cena
John Cena made his WWE debut on SmackDown in 2002. He became the face of the company in the following years and many believe that he carried the company on his shoulders at one point. Cena was tremendous on the mic and got better as a wrestler with every match. The Leader of Cenation faced some of the greatest legends in WWE like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and many more.
Cena is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood with a WWE background. He has appeared in films like The Marine, 12 Rounds, The Suicide Squad, Playing with Fire and many more.
John Cena is tied with Ric Flair for most world championship reigns in professional wrestling history. Cena is a former 13-time WWE Champion, 3-time World champion, 5-time United States champion, and a 4-time tag team champion.
1 – The Rock
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a member of the Anoa’i family. Therefore, he was not the first wrestler in his family. But the Brahma Bull managed to carve out a legacy of his own. He electrified the wrestling fans for many years and was one of the most popular wrestlers before venturing into Hollywood.
The Rock hailed as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and has delivered many hits over the years. He is one of the highest-grossing box-office stars of all time. He has appeared in close to 50 films till now. Rock’s debut lead role was in The Scorpion King in 2002. He has delivered many successful films like Pain & Gain, Hercules, Moana, Rampage, and Skyscraper to name a few. His most successful role in box-office terms has been Luke Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious franchise.
Rock is a former 8-time WWE champion, 2-time WCW champion, 2-time Intercontinental champion, and a five-time tag team champion.
