Kevin De Bruyne started his youth career at KVV Drongen in 1997 but moved to KAA Gent after 2 years. Spending 6 seasons in their youth teams, the midfielder made the switch to KRC Genk’s youth team.

Promoted to the senior side in 2008, he went on to make over 100 appearances for them, directly contributing to 53 goals. Much was expected from his transfer to Chelsea but he was loaned out twice during that time to Werder Bremen and Genk.
