Tottenham Opinion: Why Spurs should beat Arsenal to sign Ryan Fraser?
According to a report from the Daily Star, Tottenham are thought to be keen on the Bournemouth star, Ryan Fraser.
The Scotsman, 25, enjoyed a brilliant season with Bournemouth as he racked up eight goals and 15 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions. The nippy winger’s dazzling displays in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign haven’t gone unnoticed, with Arsenal also interested in signing him.
Ryan Fraser is out of contract next summer and the Cherries could look to cash in to avoid losing him on a free transfer. The report claims he rejected fresh terms last year, which could mean that the 25-year-old wants to take the next big step in his career, sooner rather than later.
A lot of interest from European clubs could also be tempting for Fraser, who at 25 will be entering the prime years of his career. That being said, Tottenham must do everything possible to beat their North London rivals, Arsenal, to the Scotland international’s signature.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will surely be keen to bolster his ranks this summer having not signed a single player since January 2018, but it remains to be seen quite how much money he will have at his disposal. Essentially a right-footed player who is deployed as an inverted winger down the left, Fraser has shown that he has a deadly eye for goal. His relatively short stature gives him the advantage of a low centre of gravity which allows the Scotsman to keep exceptional close control in tight areas.
He has a good technique and uses his elegance and dribbling skills to cut inside from the flanks. A fast, agile and mobile wide-forward, the Scotland international has the ability to link-up effectively with his teammates.
