WWE renew trademark for new “WWE Brawl” game this past week

WWE are planning to bring in a new game with a trademark filed for ‘WWE Brawl’ in the last week, according to sources.

Fightful reported that WWE updated the trademark “WWE Brawl” last week. A video game that had previously been announced to be cancelled, but was eventually dropped in 2012 shortly before developer THQ went bankrupt in 2013.

Now, WWE seems to want to repurpose the project as a spin-off of the upcoming 2K22 version in the first quarter of 2022, so Brawl can fill the void by providing struggling players with something to play with during the holiday season.

Of course, last year’s 2K Battlegrounds championship got a lot of people excited with the arcade. It did not work with the analog style of the main 2K series, but prefers the over the top action. In short, it is the spiritual successor to the 2009 All-Stars.

WWE Brawl is like that. For those who want an updated version of All Stars, this may be the music in your ears. It remains one of the most popular WWE games of all time, and for good reason. It’s great to see the new avatar on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

Will WWE 2K22 be a success?

The WWE 2K22 executive producer has stepped in to address fans’ concerns about game release delays and any other development news. Due to strong opposition to WWE 2K20,
2k Games stopped the development of its WWE product and took a one-year vacation to try to create a perfect 2K22 experience. Patrick Gilmore said: (h/t WhatCulture)

The game will be revamped this time

“I’ve heard some concerns about WWE2K22 going quiet until January. The challenge is that creating updates like the #SummerSlam trailer requires support from development, and we’re trying to stay completely focused on making you the best game possible. Our marketing and community teams are 1000% supportive of our development focus. No promises, but we’re talking about ways to share more about our progress to keep you all in the loop, so you won’t have to wait until next year to learn more.”

We will wait for further updates regarding the status of the release of the game.
