The MCL35 from McLaren keeps the papaya and blue colour scheme from last season ahead of the 2020 F1 campaign

McLaren were the latest team to launch their 2020 F1 car and kept the same colour scheme from the previous season.

The papaya and blue remain as expected, and there haven’t been any major changes in the livery.

This might have been a little disappointing given that Ferrari and Red Bull also kept their liveries the same from the previous campaign.

A release from the team added that they kept the iconic colours that were chosen by found Bruce McLaren and are on their recovery programme.

They finished a great fourth last season after several poor campaigns with Honda-powered engines.

However, they did well with the power of Renault and it will be interesting to see how things progress this season.

McLaren added that they added eight new partners for the 2020 season and will feature in the Barcelona tests sessions later in February.

Fans love new livery

Although there wasn’t much of a change in this year’s livery, the fans seemed to be on the side of the British team.

McLaren have changed their livery thrice in the past decade as they went from a silver-black combo to an all-black as they started their time with Honda.

The team then added a splash of papaya orange with the black and now have gone full blue and papaya for the past two years.

Many fans reacted positively to the car and here are some of their reactions from Twitter:

McLaren also have two of the most talented young drivers in the paddock in Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz.

The British outfit had one podium to highlight from the previous season, and they will be aiming to do better than that this season.
