Floyd Mayweather Sr shared his views on the big heavyweight fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.
Mayweather Sr is the father of boxing great Jr and he also had a great record during his time in the ring.
The 67-year-old has also trained his son for some of the biggest bouts and didn’t mince his words regarding Fury and Wilder.
When asked about the pair, Mayweather Sr, though it is a little different to understand him, claimed that Fury was nothing special.
Wilder, who talked a lot of trash before the fight, was comprehensibly defeated by Fury as the Brit won the title.
And that seems to have hit Mayweather Sr as he called Wilder ‘trash’.
“I nothing to say to him but he’s a piece of trash”.
Mayweather Sr had also claimed that he liked Wilder at the start, but not any more.
Wilder does have the option of a rematch against Fury, and it will be interesting to see if the trilogy takes place soon.
The first fight between the pair was a split decision while many claimed that Fury should have won that.
This win was an excellent performance from Fury and some have suggested that he should face Anthony Joshua for a unification bout.
However, Joshua hasn’t spoken much about facing his fellow Brit. The other rumour doing the rounds is of Fury retiring from the sport.
The current champ’s father had spoken about this possibility after the Wilder fight. Fury has been excellent since his return to the boxing world, and hanging up the gloves does make sense.
The Gypsy King has proved his doubters wrong and is on the top of the world. There is nothing else for him to do, and risking his legacy now for another fight doesn’t make a lot of sense.
