There has been a lot of confusion over how WWE stars can just name themselves in the Royal Rumble while others have to fight for an entry
WWE is preparing hard for the Royal Rumble, which is one of the biggest events of the year, however, there is some confusion over who gets an entry.
Many stars have just declared their spot in the Rumble. However, others have been forced to battle for a place in the 30-man and 30-woman spot.
This is a bit of a problem as many rising stars have missed out already. Ricochet, who can always add some excitement to any match, had to fight AJ Styles for a spot in the Rumble.
Ricochet had to beat Styles, who was already in the Rumble, for a spot. However, he lost out to Styles and won’t feature in the big match.
That would come as a blow to many and WWE executive, Adam Pearce, explained the situation on Twitter.
Pearce basically claimed that management would decide who can declare themselves in for the match and others would have to go through a match.
Pearce had been in the wars as he was making the calls on Raw and SmackDown. However, he confirmed that he didn’t make the rules but was only enforcing them.
This is another attempt to clear up the confusion about the Royal Rumble entries, but this is just making things more muddled.
It would have been better if Triple H or Stephanie McMahon just named the 30-stars for each Rumble match.
It is difficult to please everyone given the limited number of spots available. WWE has three promotions and they cannot feature all the stars in the Rumble.
Further, the Rumble always has a surprise appearance, like Edge last year. Legends and retired stars have also come up in Rumble matches recently, and it will be interesting to see who all fill up the slots in the coming weeks.
