Top seed Ons Jabeur locks horns with Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinals of the Adelaide International 1 on Friday.

The finalist in two out of the four Grand Slams in 2022 received a bye into the round of 16. Jabeur faced Sorana Cirstea in her first match of the season.
The Romanian star came into the match after defeating Viktorija Golubic in the round of 32. Defeating Jabeur was going to be a tough task for Cirstea. However, the 32-year-old fought really hard in the first set and eventually lost in the tiebreak. In the second set, the Tunisian sensation was too hot to handle and she eventually won the match 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.
Marta Kostyuk
The Ukrainian youngster defeated Cristina Bucsa and Mayar Sherif in the qualifiers to make her way into the main draw of the tournament. Kostyuk defeated both players in straight sets.
The 20-year-old began her campaign in the main draw by blowing away Jaimee Fourlis in the first set. The Aussie star made a comeback to win the second set but Kostyuk eventually held her nerves and picked up the win in the third set. The match eventually ended 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. In the round of 16, Kostyuk came back from a set down to defeat 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-3. Now she faces the player who Rybakina defeated to win the Wimbledon Championships.
