Two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova faces the talented Zheng Qinwen in the round of 16 of the Adelaide International 2 on Wednesday.

She produced a fine result in the round of 32 of the Adelaide International 1 as she got the better of sixth seed Anett Kontaveit in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7). The Chinese star was ousted by Victoria Azarenka in the round of 16.
The 20-year-old made it to the main draw of the Adelaide International 2 by defeating Mia Repac and Anastasia Potapova in the qualifiers. In the round of 32, Zheng came from a set down to defeat Shelby Rogers 4-6, 6-4, 6-0. This win must have given the youngster a lot of confidence. She will need to be at her best to beat the veteran Kvitova.
Petra Kvitova and Zheng Qinwen have never faced each other so far. Therefore, the head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 0-0.
