The talented Jannik Sinner locks horns against Kyle Edmund in the round of 32 of the Adelaide International on Tuesday.
Jannik Sinner
The sixth seed struggled a lot in 2022 with injuries. He had a disappointing end to the season, as he lost in the round of 64 of the Paris Masters. Sinner will hope to stay fit in the new season and fans are waiting to see the best of him on the court.
Currently placed at No. 15 in the ATP rankings, Sinner managed to reach the quarterfinals in three of the four major events in 2022. The 21-year-old will look to have a deep run in Adelaide and get enough practice under his belt prior to the 2023 Australian Open that begins on January 16.
Kyle Edmund
The South African born-British tennis pro made a comeback to the tour at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships after suffering a chronic injury to his left knee in early 2021. Edmund made a return to the singles circuit in Washington and defeated Yosuke Watanuki in the first round. His journey ended in the second round after losing to compatriot Dan Evans.
The former world No. 14 is currently placed at No. 582 and will be eager to make up lost ground. The start of the season won’t be an easy one as we know the kind of player Sinner is. However, Edmund’s experience can be a huge asset in what promises to be an interesting affair.
Head-to-head and Prediction
The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 0-0 as the two players have not crossed paths as yet on the tour.
Prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in straight sets.
