WWE and AEW Rumor Roundup for April 19, 2022, including Frustrated Alexa Bliss, WWE Brand split status, ROH TV deal and more!

These are all the latest rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.

1. Frustrated Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has been out of in-ring action for a long time now. So at first, RAW spent several weeks telling the story of Alexa Bliss’s therapy sessions. Which seemed like they would cure her of whatever happened while she worked with Bray Wyatt in 2020 & 2021.

She was booked for Elimination Chamber and worked with the RAW Women’s Championship for the number 1 contender match. Bliss was the last wrestler eliminated by Bianca Belair, which was a good match. But even after that, on the previous Monday’s fallout episode.

According to Fightful, Alexa Bliss made it known she was willing and able to work WrestleMania. Several pitches involving her in the Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair match were quickly shot down.

The sources also said that “Bliss was very transparent about the frustration that nothing of substance had been booked after being out of action for half a year”. She even allegedly voiced frustrations directly to Vince McMahon.

2. WWE Brand Split

Now that Roman Reigns is the WWE Unified Universal Champion, big speculation that has been building up is whether should the split between Monday Night Raw and Friday SmackDown come to an end.

The talk of ending the brand split or unifying the titles continues to be a discussion among the fans, and it became more vivid when The Tribal Chief sent The Usos to Raw to unify the tag team titles.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, regarding the speculation that WWE might be ending the RAW & SmackDown brand split, “right now, they are not merging rosters.”

3. ROH TV deal

A few days back, it was reported that AEW returns to Pittsburg next Wednesday. There will be a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT from Tony Khan.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Khan’s HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT next week could be related to a broadcast deal for Ring of Honor or a streaming deal for AEW. A snippet of audio was released by The Super J-Cast on social media with a theory that Tony Khan’s Huge Announcement is actually a tie-up between AEW and NEW Japan Show in Chicago on June 23.

Now Meltzer told Sunday Night’s Main Event that his sources did not deny reports of an AEW/New Japan supershow. But since ROH TV aired its last episode on Sinclair channels last weekend, “timing-wise”, Dave now thinks a distribution deal for ROH programming “makes the most sense of a story.”

4. Alberto Del Rio’s first major pro wrestling

Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio was charged with sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping in May 2020. However, the case against him was dismissed last December after a witness failed to appear.

Now Emily Pratt of FanByte reports AAA booked Alberto El Patron for Triplemania XXX: Monterrey on April 30, which will be his first significant pro wrestling appearance since he was charged with that allegation.

Last year, Alberto Del Rio was a special guest on UnSKripted with Dr Chris Featherstone. He opened up about his possibilities of a future comeback to WWE and revealed that he received a phone call from Vince McMahon and Triple H regarding a surprise appearance.

“I hope you know how it is with these companies, from one day to another. You get the call. That’s the way it happened back when I came back for the Hell in a Cell against John Cena. I was at home. I was watching TV with my kids, and then I got the phone call from Hunter and Mr McMahon, and they were like, ‘Are you coming or not?'” (H/t Sportskeeda )
