These are all the latest rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.
Tony Khan’s new Huge Announcement turned out to be an actually big one as it would be a supershow with NJPW. Khan took the microphone from Tony Schiavone and brought out New Japan Pro Wrestling President Takami Ohbari.
The announcement was named Forbidden Door show will be coming on June 26, 2022, at Chicago United Center. It is called “AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.”
“As the world continues to reopen, I’m making sure the Forbidden Door follows suit, and we can finally give fans the dream events they’ve always imagined,” said Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW. “The United Center was home to one of AEW’s biggest events of all time, The First Dance, where CM Punk made his return to wrestling after a seven-year hiatus. This summer, fans of AEW and NJPW can expect the unexpected during this extraordinary, first-of-its-kind pay-per-view between our two great companies.”
There are expectations that most of the events’ matches will be AEW vs New Japan. Still, According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the card isn’t “locked in stone” and could feature Intracompany games.
AEW Stable Top Fight’s member Darius Martin recently suffered a leg injury and is again out of action as per Fightful. He has been sidelined due to injury for over a year now. Again he is back at it.
According to Fightful, he is expected to miss a lengthy period of time.
He took to Twitter and reacted to his injury as well,
What I’m currently dealing with had NOTHING to do with wrestling but I’m glad everyone else out there seems to know more about my health than I do
Daniel Garcia has initially been talked about as a potential member of Blackpool Combat Club. This Blackpool Combat Club is the stable consisting of Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and William Regal.
Blackpool is the town in England where Regal hails from. Combat Club being is just a badass sounding way to the group. This looks like a lit club, to say the least.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Chris Jericho “personally picked” Daniel Garcia to join the Jericho Appreciation Society.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kushida will change his character upon returning to New Japan. He wrote that “He does want to be a different character going back and work with the higher-profile guys.”
It was reported earlier this week that Kushida has left WWE, and this is what Dave Meltzer wrote.
“He is done. His contract expired. It was not a secret that he wasn’t going to stay. I know in WWE, the belief is that he starts with New Japan in June. That’s what they believe, and it’s probably the case.”
Kushida is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and a six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
New Japan President Takami Ohbari was interviewed by Sports Illustrated, where he was asked about women’s matches at Forbidden Door.
Where he seemed to indicate that the June 26 show would only feature AEW and NJPW talent but added that,
“…the key phrase here is, ‘Never say never.’ Really nothing is off the table, and who knows what the future may hold for AEW and Stardom.”
