WWE and AEW Rumor Roundup for April 8, 2022, including McMahon’s terrible Stunner, Cody on SmackDown, Carter’s release and more!
These are all the latest rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.
Vince McMahon made some in-ring return to WrestleMania 38 when he defeated Pat McAfee in an impromptu match-up. After the matchup, Stone Cold Steve Austin made a scintillating entrance as one of the longest and best rivalries was relived by the fans in the AT&T Stadium between Steve Austin and Vince McMahon.
Austin first kicks aside Austin Theory with a crashing Stone Cold Stunner and then after McMahon. However, a funny incident happened as Austin was going for the Stunner on McMahon, he botched it early, and the whole sight was quite amusing and terrible. Fans even said that it was the worst Stunner of all time.
Now According to Fightful, Vince McMahon was aware that his sell of the Stone Cold Stunner at WrestleMania 38 was terrible, but he said that it was okay as long as people were entertained and laughing.
‘American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes returned after 6 long years at WrestleMania 38 against Seth Rollins. He was brought back as a complete anonymous wrestler. He beat Rollins after putting on a great show.
Rhodes made his return to Monday Night Raw this week. And now, According to PW Insider, Cody Rhodes will be at tonight’s SmackDown taping as well, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’ll be on television. It still doesn’t appear that WWE has officially signed Cody to Raw or SmackDown.
On April 6, WWE released Nash Carter, whose real name is Zachary Green. He was one-half of the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions along with MSK. The duo won the title last weekend at Stand & Deliver.
There was speculation that the release is related to accusations of mental and physical abuse made on social media over the past week by Green’s wife, Impact wrestler Kimber Lee. She posted a photograph of him imitating Hitler and doing a nazi salute.
Now According to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, WWE fired Nash because of the Hitler picture and not due to the allegations of abuse against him. Even Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live mentioned the same thing, “they were more concerned about this photograph than the allegations.”
According to Sports Illustrated, There was some internal discussion that WWE would use notorious runner-up Aaron Rodgers in NXT, aligning him with Pat McAfee after the WarGames match with Undisputed Era, but it never came to fruition.
Kurt Angle recently talked on his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, where he responded to a question about how his body held up. He said that he’s having a double knee replacement surgery next month. He also mentioned his painkiller problem.
I’m in extreme pain all day long. I do maintenance on my body all day. I do my neck traction. I have a thing called the Iron Neck, where it trains your neck. I have anti-gravity machine rollers. I stretch. I do a lot of weight training. I work on my body a good 2-3 hours a day. I have to. I’m so banged up now. I sacrificed a lot of my body in professional wrestling and amateur wrestling. I have to blame both sports, not just one. I’m paying for it now, but I’m managing it. I had a painkiller problem, and I kicked that eight years ago. Not having painkillers anymore is really difficult, but I’m never going back to those, nor do I want to. I’m going to keep doing my body maintenance training and doing what I’m doing right now.
