The WWE and AEW Rumor Roundup for February 25, 2022, including Cesaro Situation, AEW Surprise Decision, Moose and more!
These are all the latest rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundups from WWE and AEW.
It was earlier reported that WWE Superstar Cesaro has quietly left WWE and chose not to re-sign with the company, and it was also said that WWE did offer Cesaro a contract, but he decided to walk away. However, according to Fightful Select, it appears that Cesaro had mentioned his deal ending to some members of the WWE roster, and at that time, he wasn’t sure if he was going to re-sign.
Many people in WWE reacted with “disappointment and dismay” at the news of Cesaro leaving, as he is among the most well-regarded people on the roster.
Another report suggested that WWE didn’t push him recently as there was “no indication that he would re-sign”. Some sources have said that Cesaro wasn’t happy with his booking, but the door is still open for him to re-sign with WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rey Fenis will need three more weeks before he’s ready to return to in-ring action.
Fenix suffered a gruesome arm injury on the January 5 episode of Dynamite after being chokeslammed through a table outside of the ring by Luchasaurus. Now he is likely to miss the AEW Revolution PPV.
AEW Superstar Lio Rush announced that his AEW contract is expiring, and he will soon be a free agent. Multiple sites have also reported that there will be more departures from the company in the coming weeks.
Now more updates come in for superstars like Brian Cage regarding his contract. According to Fightful, Cage told people in AEW that the company picked up the option year on his contract. He was expecting his contract to expire, so AEW’s decision surprised him.
Impact World Champion Moose recently interviewed PW Insider and revealed that he is currently working through a torn labrum and will eventually need time off to properly heal.
“I’m pretty banged up. I need to take some time off at some point to get my shoulder fixed,” he said. “I’ll keep going. I’m the Impact World Champion, so I know what that entails. I know I have to put my hard hat on and go to work.”
