1. Summer Slam plan
Liv Morgan emerged victorious in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, which guaranteed herself a championship opportunity at any point till next year; however, she didn’t wait long and cashed in shortly after the win.
She managed to defeat Ronda Rousey via pinfall to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion just after the latter’s victory over Natalya to retain the championship.
As Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said the current plan is to do Liv Morgan vs Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown women’s championship at SummerSlam.
“Right now, the plan is Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, which kind of surprises me in a lot of ways, especially because they didn’t leave with any heat,” Meltzer stated. “Ronda just hugged her, walked out of the ring, and let her have her moment. They’ve been building for this with Liv Morgan for a while.”
2. Mystery return
During Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank, a cryptic vignette aired featuring multiple references to a returning WWE Superstar. However, this one vignette has intrigued fans the most.
The clip featured a male star with a creepy backdrop and music. Additionally, there were several easter eggs, including a pair of wrestling boots, a gold medal, glasses and a license plate reading “Latino Heat.”
There have been several rumours which suggest that the wrestler can be Bray Wyatt or even Gable Steveson. However, according to Fightful Select, the mystery vignette aired during Money in the Bank was for Edge.
The visuals were references to some of the biggest foes, crosses representing Christian, the Hardy gloves, glasses of Dudley Boyz, the Gold Medal of Kurt Angle and the Latino Heat reference for Eddie Guerrero.
3. WWE return
According to WrestleVotes, Stephanie McMahon held a company-wide meeting before Money in the Bank, which was “generally well received.”
PW Insider claims that the meeting was about pushing that WWE is “one big family.”
After Vince McMahon was accused of money matters, Stephanie McMahon, on a break, returned to become the interim Chairwoman of WWE.
4. Montez Ford Physique
WWE made several references to a potential Ford-Angelo Dawkins split this past week at SmackDown and even in the Money in the Bank. The Usos would tell Ford and Dawkins in an in-ring segment that “there have been rumours you guys haven’t been getting along,”
According to Dave Meltzer of WON, The Usos line and the commentators speaking on Ford’s physique are both intended to lead towards Ford for a single push.
Meltzer also noted that some in WWE are high on Montez Ford. They want to push him as a singles star, especially with his new physique.”
5. Money in the Bank
WWE Money in the Bank turned out to be quite a hit event this time. One of the major reasons for it was recently revealed by Fightful.
