Chris Jericho and Blackpool Combat Club are scheduled to have a face to face confrontation next week, which could set a match. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW will be doing a Blood & Guts match soon. He speculated it might be featuring Jericho Appreciation Society against Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Santana, Eddie Kingston, and Ortiz.
AEW held its first Blood and Guts Match on May 5, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite as The Pinnacle defeated The Inner Circle once MJF threatened to throw Chris Jericho off the roof of the cage and forced Sammy Guevara to surrender for his team.
AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa recently pitched the idea of a Women’s Blood, and Guts match during an interview with Women’s Wrestling talk
“I will definitely love to do an Iron Woman Match. I know Serena mentioned that last week, and I will second that. It hasn’t been done at AEW. You know, I like to break barriers and be the first one to be part of that. I would love to do one of those. I would like to do a Blood & Guts match. I think that would be so much fun with all the women that we have. We have really good women on our roster. Yeah, we have a lot of fun. I can go crazy. Roman Reigns is going to have a part-time schedule from now on. He will not be involved in small house shows and the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV event.
The Tribal Chief has recently signed a new deal with WWE. As a result, it has been speculated that his schedule will be less taxing. However, it is to be noted that Reigns is not advertised for any TV tapings or live events for July and August. The next event in which Reigns is now set to compete is expected to be at the WWE Money in the Bank event. But it is still unknown what this means for the show as it is still unclear what will be happening with Drew McIntyre or how WWE plans on explaining Roman’s absence from WWE TV.
While discussing Roman Reigns’ schedule, Meltzer said that the success of WrestleMania 38 night one helped convince WWE that they don’t necessarily need the top men’s titles to be heavily featured.
WWE also doesn’t feel an urgency to book the champion on PPV events like Hell in a Cell because the Peacock money is guaranteed regardless of the card.
AEW superstar Leyla Hirsch injured her knee last month during a Dark taping. It is known that the match was stopped, and he was taken back to the dressing room.
According to PW Insider, there is an indication that the belief among talents that she has torn her ACL or MCL. So it will be interesting to see when she makes her comeback.
With all the heat going on between former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi and New Japan Pro Wrestling as Ibushi accused them of “Cheaters-gun” and “sexually harassing bosses.”
As per Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, multiple well-connected people in Japan are saying that Kota Ibushi has “burned his bridges” with NJPW and the entire pro wrestling industry in Japan.
Ibushi suffered a significant shoulder injury against Kazuchika Okada in the G1 Climax Final. Since then, he has not wrestled since the G1 recently said his recovery to be 80 %.
Ibushi signed a three-year deal with New Japan in 2019, which means his contract will be up sometime this year. He is known for being the partner and friend of AEW star Kenny Omega. It is unclear whether Ibushi would join AEW if he left New Japan or how this could affect the ongoing relationship between these two promotions.
Chris Jericho has recently filed for trademarks on the terms “The Wizard and “The Watch.”
