WWE and AEW Rumor Roundup for May 25, 2022, including Brand, Split ending, cut RAW segment, Cody Rhodes and more!
These are all the latest AEW and WWE rumor roundup in pro-wrestling, which are currently afloat. So let’s have a look at all the rumor roundup from WWE and AEW.more!
WWE is reportedly ending the brand split as several superstars are scheduled to appear on RAW and SmackDown. This brand splitting has been a regular for a long time now, and it has helped the company feature more stars. The concept was first introduced in 2002 and officially discontinued in 2011.
According to PW Insider, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes are all scheduled to be at SmackDown this coming Friday night.
It has now seemed that WWE is going forward without the brand split concept. As per Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is more or less “essentially done” with the brand split. He also stated that half of the RAW roster can be seen on SmackDown.
“This isn’t anything official, but the brand extension is essentially done. Half of the RAW crew is going to be on SmackDown Friday. Cody’s gonna be there. I think Seth is gonna be there. Edge doing whatever, and it makes for a better show, as we’ve mentioned a thousand times,” Alvarez said.[H/T Ringside News]
However, the company is yet to make an official announcement about it.
This week’s Monday Night saw several talents missing, from Finn Balor to United States Champion Theory and his main rival Mustafa. And it is to note that there were originally plans for both Theory and Mustafa Ali to appear on the show.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the company apparently cut a planned segment between Theory and Mustafa Ali due to time constraints. However, they were told that the creative plans are still in place for The Miz and Mustafa Ali.
Some also pitched to have Theory involved in the beatdown on Cody Rhodes with The Miz and Seth Rollins, but that also didn’t go as planned.
It has also been stated that there are still plans to continue the rivalry between Theory and Ali on WWE RAW in the weeks to come.
WWE wanted The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes to feature in their newest video game, WWE 2K22.
According to SportsGamersOnline, WWE reportedly pushed to get Rhodes included in the game before returning to WrestleMania 38. However, their attempts were “shot down”. As a result, it was too late to include The American Nightmare as DLC for the game.
Rhodes even took to Twitter and responded to a fan tweet stating a potential 2K23 cover as Rhodes said that WWE Games might be onto something big.
I don’t know the talented folks at @WWEgames – but I’m a pretty decent gambler and I would bet they’re working very hard on something special for pro wrestling fans
Brandi Rhodes recently responded to a fan tweet which shared the news of Brandi’s release request granted by WWE back in 2016.
“The rest is still unwritten…”
Many fans are taking this as a tease of her WWE return. We will have to wait and see if that is the case, as this can be a massive moment for the WWE universe.
