AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash 2020 results and grades: AEW had a special Holiday Bash episode ahead of Christmas and this was broadcast a couple of hours later than usual thanks to the NBA games.

The return of Sting was still one of the major talking points and AEW had been riding high in the ratings war too.

Sting shocked the world by making his AEW debut at Winter is Coming (AEW)

However, we start off the AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash results and grades piece with another big tag match.

Inner Circle vs Top Flight

MJF and Chris Jericho teamed up to take on Top Flight’s, Dante and Darius Martin in the opening match.

Top Flight made things tough for the two more experienced stars but it was MJF who got the win in the end.

Jake Hager then was upset that Wardlow wasn’t doing enough and confirmed a match between the pair would take place next week.

Jericho and MJF beat Top Flight

Grade B

The battle between the four was incredible and this was fantastic start to the show. However, Hager vs Wardlow will be interesting, especially with the Inner Circle being close to breaking up.

Schiavone and Sting

Tony Schiavone turned the clocks back as he interviewed Sting, The Icon. Sting spoke about Dusty Rhodes and how he wanted to join AEW because his sons were doing a good job.

Taz interrupted and mocked Schiavone calling out Sting while Ricky Starks also wanted to beat Sting up.

However, the lights went off and when they appeared Darby Allin was standing next to Sting. Taz and his team left the pair in the ring.

Grade A

Sting is doing all he can to make Allin look good and AEW is hitting the right notes with this. This was a great segment and Taz was at his absolute best in all this.

Express vs Dark Order

Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt and Luchasaurus of Jurassic Express took on Colt Cabana, Alan Angels and Press10 Vance of the Dark Order in a six-man tag match.

The Dark Order continued their losing streak as Boy and Saurus got the win.

Tully Blanchard then issued a challenge from FTR to take on the Express next week.

Express beats Order

Grade B

This was another quality tag match from the AEW stable and it shows how deep their tag team roster is. It will be interesting to see what Brodie Lee does with the Order, given that they are losing a lot now.

PAC vs Butcher

Kenny Omega blasted Rey Fenix and claimed he would send him to another promotion after their match.

PAC then battled Butcher in a one-on-one match with Eddie Kingston on commentary duty.

Kingston then rose from his chair and that saw Lance Archer also provide a distraction, which helped PAC to score the win.

PAC and Archer then had a bit of a staring contest after the match got over.

PAC beats Butcher

Grade C

PAC vs Archer should be great, especially with Kingston looking on but the real story here was Butcher looking great in another outing.

Dustin vs Evil Uno

Dustin Rhodes took on Evil Uno in a one on one match and it was Rhodes who got the win.

However, Uno tried to get Dustin to join the Dark Order and he wasn’t keen on doing that, for now.

Dustin beats Uno

Grade B

The match was alright but Dustin joining the Dark Order could be fun. However, there was a lot of madness after Dustin attacked Uno, and it will be interesting to see what is next.

Wedding date; Shida in action

Miro confirmed the wedding date of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford, which was going to be on 3 February at Beach Break.

That gave away to Hikaru Shida taking on Alex Gracia but the champion was attacked by Abadon before the match.

Shida pulled double duty as she attacked Abadon and then won the match. However, Abadon had the last laugh as she bit Shida and spilled some blood too.

Shida beats Gracia

Grade B

This was another match that AEW could have worked better from the women’s division. However, Abadon getting under Shida’s skin is a good storyline and it will be interesting to see how AEW continues this rivalry.

Bucks vs Acclaimed

Anthony Bowens and Max Castor were the team of The Acclaimed as they took on The Young Bucks for the AEW tag team titles.

This was a hard fought match and even after the referee got bumped and a new one came in, it were the champs that got the win.

Bucks beat Acclaimed

Grade B

This was a great match but it could have been better. The Acclaimed will improve with more matches under their belt while Matt and Nick Jackson need a proper rival to continue their reign as champions.
