AEW Dynamite Results and Grades: AEW was back for this week’s show with Cody Rhodes replying to Brodie Lee’s challenge as one of the big talking points.
Eddie Kingston vs Jon Moxley was great last week and Kingston again had something up his sleeve for the AEW Champion.
However, we start off this week’s AEW Dynamite results and grades piece with a great match:
Darby Allin finally got a chance to take on Ricky Starks after the pair had clashed several times in the past.
It was Allin who got the win over Starks in a great encounter before Will Hobbs entered to ensure Brian Cage didn’t make an impact.
Allin beats Starks
Grade B
This was a great way to start off Dynamite as both stars provided some incredible moments and highlights.
It was also great to see Hobbs and Cage come out later on and the pair should meet in the future.
Cody was participating in an interview and spoke about how quickly he lost the title to Lee and how he was distracted by Hollywood.
However, he accepted a Dog Collar match from Lee for next week’s show which then saw the entire locker room come out and try to calm things down.
The women also got involved later on in the ruckus as Lee tried to get the upper hand before next week’s show.
Grade B
This was an incredible promo cut from Cody and AEW. His reasoning for losing so quickly was right and the way he ensured that people stay hooked on for the promo was great too.
The match should be a cracker and it could be one of the best of the year.
FTR put up their tag titles on the line against SCU next.
Tony Schiavone was taken out by the Bucks as FTR claimed the Bucks didn’t deserve a title shot.
Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky took on FTR for the titles. While the match was great between the four men, it was Tully Blanchard who played a key role.
The manager of FTR held down Sky’s foot during a pin and that allowed Cash Wheeler to get the win.
FTR beats SCU
Grade A
Apart from the attack to Schiavone, this was an excellent match. The wrestling was great as all four men showed off their talents while Blanchard also played a huge role and cemented his place as a heel.
Chris Jericho was to face Isiah Kassidy of Private Party but Le Champion came out with the Inner Circle.
Kassidy brought in Matt Hardy and Marq Quen in his corner but the Inner Circle taunted Kassidy a lot in this match.
While Kassidy put on a great show, it was Jericho that got the win in the end.
Jericho beats Kassidy
Grade A
AEW got another cracking match with Kassidy doing a great job against Jericho. Jake Hager attacking Luther and Serpentico was interesting and the Inner Circle could have new rivals soon.
Orange Cassidy took on 10 from the Dark Order. 10 had back up from some of his Dark Order members but it was Cassidy who got the win in the end.
Cassidy beats 10
Grade C
This was done to keep pushing Cassidy and Freshly Squeezed delivered. It will be interesting to see what is next for him but AEW has a star and they need to ensure they make the right decisions for him.
Dr. Britt Baker was back in action on AEW as she took on Red Velvet. The doctor was accompanied by Reba but she didn’t need any help.
Baker picked up an easy and dominating win over Velvet to send a message across.
Baker beats Velvet
Grade A
Baker looked back to her best as she made her comeback after months out.
She should be back in the title scene too but Baker looks like the perfect heel for the women’s division.
Eddie Kingston called out the referee from last week as he was with the Lucha Bros.
However, Moxley came out to face his rivals and Kingston opened up that the champion would face The Butcher.
Moxley’s knee was hurt during the match and Butcher targeted it. However, the champion persevered for the win and then stared down Kingston.
Moxley beats Butcher
Grade B
Moxley vs Kingston is a certainty, and it will be interesting to see how that goes later on as the title could be on the line.
However, the champion has to first face Lance Archer and that will be a great match. Further, credit must go to Butcher for an excellent performance, even though he is known to be a tag expert.
