AEW Superstars Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti get engaged in Paris
It has been confirmed by TMZ that AEW top star Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti got engaged in Paris. They were together for a long time and have been seen both on camera and off.
Guevara took to Twitter and posted the picture of him proposing to Conti near the Eifel Tower. He captioned it saying, “SHE SAID YES.”
SHE SAID YES!
This will be the first marriage of Guevara. However, he was earlier engaged to Pamella Nizio, a medical worker from Houston, Texas. He proposed to her life at an AEW event. Still, the relationship broke off shortly before it was publicly known that he and Conti were involved.
However, she was previously married to Jorge Conti for Conti, but the couple got divorced in 2021.
Guevara proposed all the traditional ways of going on one knee before he showed the ring and popped the questions. Many fans felt the couple was going public too soon after the former’s engagement was broken. But the pair came on strongly and turned it into part of their gimmick.
At first, both were babyfaces, but it wasn’t long before Sammy and Tay turned into one of the biggest heels on the promotion. They both would be very handsy with one another in front of a live audience, and it began a lot of heat for the couple.
The engaged couple recently did an Intergender match at AEW Double or Nothing. They came out in “Disney Villain” attire. They teamed with Frankie Kazarian to take on American Top Team’s Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and debuting Paige VanZant.
It built to a point where both Conti and Guevara sought assistance from Kazarian, who left them high and dry. However, the match ended when Sammy mistakenly superkicked his future fiance in the face. This led to a Kazarian receiving a TKO from his former partner Sky and getting the pinfall for the win.
