The new event of AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door presale gets sold out instantly only a few seats remaining
New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling will join forces for a supershow that will take place on June 26 at the United Center in Chicago. The event is called “Forbidden Door.”
The presale tickets for the event went on sale yesterday, and they reportedly got sold out. “Well, over 20,000 people” were in the ticket queue at some point, with the website letting people in slowly until all the tickets available were sold. It took around 40 minutes until every ticket purchased was snagged.
It is expected that a limited amount of tickets will become available when they are open to the general public on Friday, May 6 at 11 am EST. The arena currently holds up to 14000 fans but they may be looking to extend the seating map.
Tony Khan reveals that Forbidden Door will feature Dream Matches people have never seen before
AEW x NJPW is just the latest step in the partnership between the two sides. AEW President Tony Khan revealed how the event will feature dream matches that fans have never seen before.
“I certainly am going to work closely with Gedo in putting this card together,” Tony Khan said. “The two of us will have to decide who we can send from our respective companies, what the matches are gonna be, and we’ll make the best matches we can for the pro wrestling fans. They’re gonna be dream matches that people thought they’d never get to see.” (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
He also mentioned that AEW has built a great partnership with NJPW.
“It’s something that we’d talked about for a long time,” Tony explained. “Now, with international travel opening up, it’s possible. We’ve, I think, built a great relationship between AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.”
