Andrade El Idolo finally makes in-ring debut last night on of AEW Dynamite
Former WWE Superstar and new AEW entrant Andrade El Idolo made his debut against Matt Sydal on the “Road Rager” edition of Dynamite and has responded to his impressive win.
He praised Sydal but went on to say he was going to be the face of the company.
El Idolo also challenged the division declaring himself as the face appearing in a black mask. The former NXT Champion arrived with new DC gear of Black Mask, complete with a white pinstripe suit and a luchador mask. He says:
“Great opponent and amazing talent @MattSydal but I’m going to make the new face of the company @AEW,”
He has previously expressed his will to chase both the TNT and AEW Championships. El Idolo is one of the highly rated wrestlers, which is why it will be interesting how he is booked.
With Vicky Guerrero by his side, the combination could reap high rewards and put everyone on watch. He has already called out Miro and warned him about his presence.
El Idolo is also going to face Kenny Omega at TripleMania XIX for the AAA Mega Championship on AAA Lucha Libre on August 14th.
He also paid tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero with the Three Amigos in the fight. Vickie tweeted this morning and commented in regard to the gesture saying:
“@AndradeElIdolo and repping Eddie made the perfect night! #shimmy #threeamigos”
Why did Andrade El Idolo leave WWE?
El Idolo had requested a release after he was dissatisfied with his run in WWE. He was pitted with Drew McIntyre, but was made a scapegoat in the storyline to everyone’s surprise. After becoming the United States Champion, he went downhill and it ended there.
WWE were reluctant but finally granted his release this year, after which he moved to Tony Khan’s AEW. The move could be a breath of fresh air as he is now going to be fighting the best wrestlers every week.
