Former WWE Superstar and mixed martial artist CM Punk is set to be unveiled as an AEW Wrestler soon
The AEW is making big moves. The promotion has been putting their rivals WWE under immense pressure with ‘big time’ signings.
Former WWE Superstar and mixed martial artist CM Punk might be unveiled as an AEW Wrestler anytime soon. He is expected to be announced at AEW Rampage: The First Dance, which kicks off in a few hours.
Punk, hasn’t wrestled in over 7 years, with his last appearance coming way back in early 2014. He left the WWE on a bitter note, and became a mixed martial artist, joining the UFC, a couple of years later.
However, he wasn’t successful at all, as a mixed martial artist – winless in his 2 fights.
Another massive signing the AEW has locked in is Daniel Bryan. The WWE Veteran didn’t re-sign a contract with the promotion after his contract expired on May 4, 2021.
The AEW is set to unveil him on the 22nd of September at AEW Dynamite – New York City.
Besides this, it is also being reported that the AEW might make another big signing. The news was first broken by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer who revealed that “a new major acquisition” is headed to the promotion.
‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair was granted his release on the 3rd of August by the WWE.
Since, Flair does not have the non-complete clause attached to his name, he is free to sign for any promotion.
The legendary wrestler recently appeared alongside Andrade at the recently concluded TripleMania PPV.
