Britt Baker certainly wasn’t impressed by Vince McMahon banning WWE stars from using Cameo
Vince McMahon has decided to ban WWE stars from using Cameo has been met with ire and surprise from the wrestling world.
Reported by Fightful and Wrestling Inc, McMahon has given stars 30 days to stop their activities on third-party platforms.
This includes Cameo and Twitch but could also include Patreon or even YouTube. Using such platforms allowed the WWE stars to be closer to their fans. It also enabled them to earn a little extra money.
McMahon has claimed that this was a necessary step in WWE’s next growth plans. However, this does seem unfair to the WWE stars as they have built brands over the years.
McMahon’s letter further added that he didn’t want his WWE characters to be used on platforms. WWE might be trying to protect their assets but the performers are often on independent contracts, so it will be interesting to see what happens with them.
Britt Baker is one of the top stars in AEW and she took a quick shot at WWE. There is a war brewing between WWE and AEW, and this was one huge shot fired by her.
She tweeted to AEW confirming that she could continue doing Cameo videos.
Baker is one of the top heels in the business too and was a subtle, yet perfect way to hit out at this new storm brewing.
The AEW star wasn’t the only one who tweeted about WWE’s problems with Cameo. Renee Young, who only recently left WWE, also took time to post on social media.
The ex-WWE employee posted that this would be the perfect time to launch her own Twitch and Cameo accounts.
This could get ugly between WWE and its stars. However, AEW seems to have a chilled out attitude to all this as it allows its stars to also wrestle on other promotions, as long as it isn’t a direct rival.
