Brodie Lee was unable to defeat Jon Moxley for the AEW World title
Double or nothing finally saw the clash between Brodie Lee and Jon Moxley, and it was an amazing fight.
Lee was looking to claim the AEW World title from Moxley, who has been a fighting champion. Moxley defeated Chris Jericho to win the crown and has held tight to it. Lee, on the other hand, came into AEW fairly recently and was revealed as The Exalted One of the Dark Order.
He attacked Moxley in the past and was confident of winning the title coming into Double or Nothing. However, Moxley got the upper hand on the former Wyatt Family member. The referee called the match after Lee was choked out, but the Exalted One did not tap out.
Lee posted his first words since the loss and shared a ton of respect for his rival. Moxley is as tough as wrestlers can be, and he seems to have impressed Lee:
“Respect to Jon Moxley. That’s all I have to say at this time”, was Lee’s short tweet.
AEW Double or Nothing almost got everything right with the PPV. The Stadium Stampede match was something out of the world and it featured some amazing spots.
The match might not be to everyone’s liking but there were a ton of fun moments too. Sammy Guevara was chased twice but still managed to be on the winning side.
Hikaru Shida got the better of Nyla Rose to become the new AEW Women’s Champion. Cody Rhodes, on the other hand, beat Lance Archer to become the fist TNT Champion.
However, it will be interesting to see who is the next challenger for Moxley. He has beaten Jake Hager and Lee in tough circumstances and still looks hungry for more.
Brian Cage shocked the world by winning the Casino Ladder match, and he can challenge Moxley whenever he wants.
The former Impact star was a surprise ninth participant in the match and was brought to the ring by Taz.
