Holly Holm defeated Irene Aldana in the main event last night
UFC Fight Night Holm vs Aldana certainly lived up to expectations. There were some incredible performances and finishes which caught the attention of UFC fans worldwide.
Holly Holm vs Irene Aldana was the main event at Fight Island, and it was a fantastic performance from the former Bantamweight champion.
The 38-year-old turned the clock back with a vintage performance and won the fight via unanimous decision.
This was Holm’s 14th MMA win of her career and she is on a two-fight win streak. Holm certainly got a lot of people talking and one of them was AEW star Cash Wheeler.
Wheeler is one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions and had just one word to describe the UFC star’s performance:
Mike Perry believed that the only person who can stop two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes is Holm.
The American had faced Nunes a few fights back for the Bantamweight title. However, Holm was knocked out by the UFC legend.
It will be interesting to see if she gets a title shot after this or she has to get a few more wins before facing one of the greatest ever in Nunes.
Wheeler, for his part, is having a fantastic time as half of the AEW tag champions. FTR have been excellent ever since they joined AEW and they are showing off a ton of their skills every week.
The Revival, as they were known, left WWE and signed up with rival promotion AEW. The pair felt that WWE wasn’t treating them fairly and now have the chance to face the Young Bucks.
Many believe that the two teams are the best in the tag division all across wrestling, and it should be an incredible fight when they meet up.
