The AEW vs NXT ratings war seems to be siding with the new promotion

AEW Dynamite recorded more than 1million+ viewers as it celebrated another week in winning the ratings war vs NXT.

The war between WWE and AEW over ratings has been going for a while ever since AEW moved to TNT and took on NXT.

Both shows took the same time slot on Wednesday, and this was dubbed as the Wednesday Night Wars.

Miro is the latest WWE star to join AEW (WWE)

AEW had been winning initially but WWE moved up thanks to the Great American Bash. However, both shows have had to change dates for various reasons. AEW Dynamite has returned to its Wednesday slot again while NXT has taken place on Tuesdays for the last two weeks.

AEW was coming off All Out, a major PPV, and this week’s ratings saw them hit over 1million viewers for the first time in 2020.

NXT, for their part, got 838,000 viewers for the second Super Tuesday, and AEW seems to be doing a great job.

Stars celebrate mini-win

AEW has been slowly climbing up the ratings charts and this would have been helped thanks to no NXT for that day and coming off All Out.

Many AEW stars spoke about the ratings boost and one of them was also Tony Khan:

Jim Ross was another to thank Khan for reaching this number:

Joey Janela cracked a joke about reaching 1million and claimed it was down to him and rising star Sonny Kiss.

MJF, Tay Conti and Chris Jericho also posted their updates on reaching this figure:

The ratings should continue getting a boost in the coming weeks with Miro making his AEW debut. Miro, formerly known as Rusev, became the latest WWE star to join their rivals.

He hit out at the promotion for having a proverbial brass ring but he could never reach that. He is now All Elite and it promises to be an interesting time for him and the promotion.
