CM Punk took to Twitter to react to his scintillating AEW debut on Friday night
CM Punk received a hero’s welcome at the United Center in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The former WWE Superstar made his AEW debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance.
“The Best in The World”, entered the entrance ramp with ‘The Cult of Personality’ playing in the background. The crowd went haywire.
Some fans were in tears as well. Such was the impact Punk had left in the pro-wrestling scene.
A long entrance saw Punk, live and absorb the moment, as he went from fan to fan and shared an embrace.
Entering the ring, he explained how good it was to be back before sitting in his trademark cross-legged pose. He also fired some shots at the WWE.
Punk then went on to call out Darby Allin for a match on the 5th of September, saying that he had some scores to settle in the locker room, even as Allin and Sting looked on from the top deck of the United Center.
Following his debut, Punk took to Twitter to share an image of the statement issued by AEW on ‘The Cookie Master’s debut.
Punk just had two words to say in response to questions about his future career plans:
“I’m back.”
CM Punk walked in to one of the loudest crowd pops in recent times.
Being one of the witnesses of the same, UFC middleweight Derek Brunson took to Twitter to question CM Punk’s decision to become a mixed martial artist when he had such a fanbase in the pro-wrestling world.
Brunson wrote:
“Why would a man come to the MMA world from this. CM Punk crazy af.”
