CM Punk makes a WCW comparison after Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole make AEW debuts
CM Punk made a comeback to professional wrestling with a win in the AEW All Out PPV.
After the win, he spoke at the All Out post-show media scrum and talked about the big debutants Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole.
Punk made huge comparisons of WCW debuts in 1996 with debuts of Cole and Danielson and told about the latter as the bigger ones.
Punk said that the company has gained momentum in just two years and how AEW is doing great.
When asked about Outsiders joining the AEW, Punk told about how they are not outsiders and mentioned former WCW legends like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.
He was quoted as saying in the AEW post-show media scrum (h/t Wrestling Inc.):
“And as long as we keep them engaged, and keep them happy, and to bring it back around, that’s what we’re doing,” Punk said. “I’m not [Hulk] Hogan. I’m not [Randy] Savage. Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole, they’re not The Outsiders. I see the parallels. This is totally different, and I’ll go ahead and say it, and people can quote me, and they’ll be pissed off about it. To me, this is bigger.”
CM Punk begins with a win in AEW All Out
CM Punk returned to professional wrestling with a win in the last seven years against the Darby Allin in the AEW All Out PPV.
It was a perfect match-up between the two as both the wrestlers gave a tough fight with Allin flipping punk over the top rope, but in the end, Punk won with his finishing maneuver “Go To Sleep.”
The match ended well as Sting came to the ring and shook hands with The Best in the World. This was a moment of respect between the two legends of the game.
Punk also shook hands with Allin, and it was pretty emotional in the end.
Former WWE stars Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole made their debut in the AEW All Out at the end.
