CM Punk made his debut in AEW at The First Dance event on Rampage where he challenged Darby Allin to a match at the All Out pay-per-view event.
The Second City Saint has gone from strength to strength since then and is currently aiming to win his first championship in AEW when he faces Adam Page at Double or Nothing for the latter’s AEW World Championship.
CM Punk defeated John Silver on this week’s episode of Dynamite but after the show went off the air, he was laid out by HOOK.
During a recent interview with Comicbook, Punk described how happy he is working for AEW at the moment. Punk, who has wrestled in various promotions and even had a memorable stint in WWE, said he has never been able to tell such “reality-based storylines” before.
“I’ve never been happier in a wrestling ring. I’ve never, to me, been telling more fluid, better, reality-based stories. It’s been a real treat.”
CM Punk is not interested to face KENTA
KENTA is currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling and is a member of the Bullet Club stable. He has also made a few appearances for AEW.
Both Kenta and CM Punk use the same finisher known as GTS. Fans have always liked the idea of the two getting in the ring to determine who is the master of the GTS maneuver.
The former multiple-time world champion in WWE, addressed the chances of him stepping into the ring with KENTA. “No,” was the straightforward answer from the 43-year-old Punk.
Fans would hope Punk changes his mind so that they can witness the dream match. However, for now, Punk is focused on “Hangman” Adam Page and his AEW World Championship.
