CM Punk opens up on if wrestling return was possible without AEW
A return that blew the wrestling world and what could possibly be one of the most iconic moments of this year, if not the most. CM Punk’s returned for the first time in seven years at “The First Dance”.
Since his return, Punk has said in interviews that WWE was never on the cards and wants to grow AEW. However, the Best in the World recently spoke with DAZN (h/t Wrestling Inc.), where he was questioned if he would have returned without AEW’s existence.
Punk said that it has all happened at the right time and for his timing is everything. He mentioned being happy with his representation at AEW, and if not for this company, he might not have returned sooner.
“It’s a great question. One I’ve actually thought about, but I don’t think so,” Punk admitted. “It happened at the right time, and timing is everything. There’s a lot of stuff that I had to heal on my own. I’m happy AEW is around now because I really don’t know if I’d have gone there sooner.”
CM Punk and Bryan Danielson can be the reasons for AEW’s growing popularity
AEW is the hot promotion in North America at this moment, and one of the primary reasons for that is related to two of the biggest superstars in the wrestling world joining them. Yes, I am talking about CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.
Punk returned to pro-wrestling after a long hiatus of seven years where Bryan Danielson is also popularly known by the name Daniel Bryan in WWE. These two have been the multiple-time champions in WWE.
Punk’s return to the wrestling world has definitely increased the popularity level of AEW.
