Goldust is one of the most controversial, bizarre, yet memorable characters in pro wrestling history. Dustin Rhodes pulled off the gimmick brilliantly and he deserves all the credit he gets for it and then some.

Goldust‘s character debuted in 1995. The son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes pulled off the bizarre character to perfection. He demanded attention from the crowd with his suggestive innuendos and unsettling antics with other wrestlers.

However, take nothing away from his wrestling acumen. He was technically gifted and produced many great matches. He was excellent on the mat and decent in the air. Sometimes, the greatness of his character overshadowed his wrestling prowess but at the end of the day, his achievements speak volumes of how sensational he was inside the squared circle.

In WWF/E, he became a 9-time WWF Hardcore Champion, 3-time Tag tea Champion (twice with half-brother Cody Rhodes and once with Booker T), and also won the Intercontinental Championship thrice.

Dustin Rhodes got better in terms of his physique as his career progressed. He returned to WWE multiple times and each time he looked better than ever.

Rhodes posted a couple of pictures, one from his younger days and one more recent, and wrote: “Here’s your 28 yr challenge.#BetterThanEver #OneYearWiser #KeepSteppin

One fan hailed Goldust as the second greatest character made by WWE after the legendary Undertaker. Another fan was in awe of how well Dustin was looking at his age. The fan went on to say that aging as well as Dustin is his new goal in life.

Rhodes recently mentioned that his dream opponent is CM Punk and when the time is right, he would love to get back in the ring for a match with him. That would certainly be a match to savour for the wrestling fans.
