Here is everything about the AEW Dynamite Results, Winners, and Highlights from the 13th April episode.
CM Punk, MJF, and Samoa Joe were in action in an enthralling episode of AEW Dynamite. Jericho Appreciation Society continued its dominance. There were also a couple of impressive debuts.
CM Punk versus Penta Oscuro
CM Punk once again featured in the first match of the night. Punk went for the GTS early but Penta countered into an ankle lock. Penta sent Punk to the floor and attempted the baseball slide but Punk evaded.
Punk got the Anaconda Vice in but Penta reached the ropes. Penta countered another GTS attempt and delivered a pile driver. In the end though, Punk finally landed the GTS for the victory.
Result – CM Punk beat Penta Oscuro
Jurassic Express versus reDRagon
Bobby Fish and Jungle Boy started the match. They went back and forth until Fish pushed Jungle Boy into Kyle O’Reilly and tagged in his partner.
Luchasaurus also got the tag and he took out his opponents soon. Towards the closing stages, Jurassic Express tried to set up a Doomsday Device but Fish converted it into a top rope falcon arrow. Jungle Boy took out O’Reilly with a DDT and then with his partner delivered a double-team finisher on Bobby Fish to finish the match.
O’Reilly grabbed a chair and hit both Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus with those. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler then came out and stared down both teams as they held their belts up.
Result – Jurassic Express beat reDRagon
MJF versus Shawn Dean
MJF had a plan up his sleeve. He acted as if he couldn’t take off his jacket. This distracted Dean as MJF took him out and then removed the jacket with ease.
The camera showed the security guards who were knocked out by Wardlow over the last couple of weeks. Wardlow took MJF by surprise as he appeared from behind wearing a security shirt. The big man chased MJF. Shawn Spears hit Wardlow with a chair but to no effect.
Security rushed in and protected MJF and the match ended in a count out victory for Dean.
Result – Shawn Dean beat MJF
Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, and Jake Hager (Jericho Appreciation Society) versus Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz
Ortiz raked the face of Jericho but soon he was taken out by Hager. Jericho and Hager teamed up to beat down Ortiz. Jericho attempted his lionsault but missed. Kingston got the hot tag. Santana got the tag and he hit the three amigos on Garcia followed by a frog splash.
Magic Daddy and Cool Hand Luke came out but they were dealt with. Kingston hit an exploder suplex but Jericho’s bat was used on him as Garcia rolled him to take the pinfall victory in a fast-paced match.
Result – Jericho Appreciation Society beat Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz
After the match, JAS continued their beatdown on their rivals.
MJF backstage was given the power by Mark Sterling to book a match. He did so and booked Wardlow in a match against The Butcher.
Marina Shafir versus Skye Blue
This match ended quickly. Shafir hit a pump handle slam. Blue couldn’t muster up much offense as Shafir locked in the Triangle to make her opponent submit.
Impressive debut for Marina Shafir and the future looks bright for her.
Result – Marina Shafir
Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs versus Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland
Swerve and Starks got us underway but the latter didn’t want to get into a fight with Swerve just yet, so he tagged in Hobbs. Hobbs hit a fallaway slam and then Starks tagged in to take advantage. Swerve, however, managed to tag in Keith Lee.
Lee and Swerve double-teamed on Starks. Hobbs came to the aid of his partner. Lee leapfrogged an onrushing Hobbs, who speared his own teammate.
Towards the climax, Lee climbed the ropes but Taz tripped him. Hobbs took advantage, slamming Lee to take the pinfall victory.
Result – Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs beat Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland
Samoa Joe versus Minoru Suzuki
This was the main event of the night. Both men met each other with huge chops. Suzuki landed a big boot on Joe and then another kick on his chest.
Joe managed to counter an attempted sleeper hold by slamming Suzuki to the ground. Suzuki couldn’t pull off the pile driver as Joe hit the muscle buster off the top rope to secure the victory.
Result – Samoa Joe beat Minoru Suzuki
After the match, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, and Sanjay Dutt attacked Samoa Joe.
