This week’s AEW Dynamite will be a tribute to Brodie Lee

The founder and CEO of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Tony Khan, confirmed that the promotion will be hosting a special episode as a tribute to Brodie Lee.

Brodie Lee, whose real name is Jon Huber, passed away this week due to a lung problem. His wife Amanda Huber confirmed that his battle with the disease was a long one and that it was not Covid related.

Ever since the news was announced, tributes have been coming in from all corners of the world. Wrestling stars and fans have come together to honour the life of The Exalted One.

This included CM Punk confirming that all proceeds from his merchandise sale will go to Huber’s family. Lee was a former wrestler with WWE, where he fought under the moniker ‘Luke Harper’.

He left WWE in December 2019 to join AEW in March 2020. And now, his latest employers have announced a gesture that will sit well with the entire wrestling world.

The announcement confirms that this week’s AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night will see a special episode in honour of Lee.

Khan also states that the match cards will reflect an ode to Lee and that the night is also intended for Huber’s family.

Jon Huber’s wife Amanda Huber, and his sons Brodie & Nolan, are also expected to be in attendance for the 30th December episode titled ‘Brodie Lee Celebration of Life’.

This is truly a classy gesture from AEW and the fans have nothing but positive words to say for it. Many flocked the replies of Khan’s tweet to show their appreciation for the promotion’s decision.
