Eddie Kingston reveals the one WWE superstar he would like to have a match against
AEW star Eddie Kingston was with former WWE presenter Renee Paquette on the latest episode of her Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette podcast.
Paquette asked the 39-year-old who he wants to get in the ring with. Kingston expressed his desire to step into the Old Japan Pro Wrestling ring.
On top of that, he named NJPW icon Hiroshi Tanahashi and WWE legend Stone Cold Steven Austin as the two wrestlers he dreams of fighting inside the ring.
“There [are] certain guys I want to get in there with. Tanahashi is number 1. Stone Cold Steve Austin is my favourite American wrestler. So to me Tanahashi then Stone Cold Steve Austin.”
He also expressed his admiration for Bret Hart. Kingston stated that Hart was a great storyteller and the most believable wrestler during that time.
Kingston mentioned that he had offers from both AEW as well as WWE and that he was weighing his options. He mentions that his mother influenced his decision to join AEW.
“I know more people in AEW, and I know there is a lot of heart there. I think for her, that is what she thought. She thought I was going to be around people who love it just as much as I do.”
Kingston, of course, made his AEW debut in the July 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite. He faced Cody Rhodes on his debut for the AEW TNT Championship, but went on to lose.
Paquette also asked him what his ideal scenario would be to win the AEW World Championship. Kingston had no doubt about it in his mind that it has to be against Jon Moxley in the Madison Square garden.
“Realistically, me and Jon [Moxley] at the Hammerstein Ballroom.”
