AEW have ‘legitimately’ signed Brodie Lee Jr. to a contract
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) commentator Tony Schiavone stated in his What Happened When podcast (h/t WhatCulture) that Brodie Lee Jr. has signed a contract with the promotion.
Schiavone mentioned that when Brodie Lee (Jon Huber) was sick, AEW brought out his eldest son inside the ring. Brodie Lee Jr proceeded to beat up a few wrestlers but this was done behind closed doors and was not taped. (Transcription credit: WhatCulture)
“Knowing that Brodie was very sick, and knowing it was holiday time, and I guess knowing that it was going to be very difficult for him to kick out, they brought little Brodie to TV. And wrestling is his life.”
Lee Jr. was made a part of the Dark Order and had his very own mask. And at the end, Schiavone mentions that AEW signed the 8-year-old to a legitimate contract.
“They made him a member of the Dark Order. They put a mask on him. They legitimately signed him to a contract, and when he gets of age he will be with AEW.”
We can thus expect Brodie Lee’s 8-year-old son to be in AEW in the coming years. He does have a few years left before he reaches that age, but knowing you already have a contract in the bag is brilliant motivation to train and become an elite wrestler.
The 8-year-old’s father, Jon Huber (AKA Brodie Lee), passed away on 26th December. His wife informed the world that the cause of his death was a non-Covid-related lung issue.
Since then, both WWE and AEW have done their part to show their respect for Lee’s career. WWE made multiple changes to this week’s Monday Night RAW episode to pay tribute to Jon Huber, who fought in WWE as ‘Luke Harper‘.
In addition to that, Tony Khan announced that this week’s AEW Dynamite will be dedicated to the life of Brodie Lee.
Amidst this, the news of Brodie Lee Jr. signing the AEW contract has seen unanimous respect and approval for AEW by wrestling fans.
