Thunder Rosa has featured on AEW in the past but Dave Meltzer believes WWE could also be interested in her
Former NWA Champion Thunder Rosa took the internet by storm as she hinted at a new future after losing her title to Serena Deeb.
Rosa, who has won titles in several promotions has featured on AEW. She is also a former MMA athlete and has a 0-1 record with her only fight coming in 2019.
The 34-year-old is signed with NWA and Women of Wrestling but her appearances on AEW in the past had opened up the possibility of moving to a promotion full-time.
AEW allows stars from other promotions, barring WWE and Impact, to feature on their shows and Rosa has been on them for a while.
However, the real story came from Dave Meltzer who tweeted that she was off to either WWE or AEW.
“Serena Deeb of AEW (sorry) won the NWA women’s title from Thunder Rosa tonight. We did hear about this likely happening and that both WWE & AEW had interest in her.”
Meltzer had previously stated that Deeb was on Impact but deleted the tweet and reposted the news about Rosa.
Rosa was doing pretty well as the NWA champion and the switch of the title is certainly interesting.
The former champion posted an image of a new beginning on Twitter but quickly deleted that post. She then had a long post on Instagram which again hinted that she was thinking of a new beginning.
However, she also claimed that she was going through a re-birth and would rise from the ashes:
“I’m STILL A BADASS BITCH! Losing or winning I’m always striving for the best, to be the best and to excel! A new beginning starts now… The re-birth…. Watch me rise From the ashes AGAIN…. THEY DONT CALL ME #lameramera for NO REASON”
AEW does need more women in their division, at least top-performing women, and Rosa moving to that promotion makes sense.
However, WWE has a huge women’s roster and Rosa could work her way up from NXT. The three brands have some of the best female talents in the world, and it will be interesting to see if Rosa does move to either WWE or AEW.
Fans, for their part, made their prediction on Rosa’s future. Most of them believed AEW would be the right destination while some didn’t understand why she left NWA after starring as the champion.
