Hikaru Shida gets her trophy broken by Serena Deeb
This week’s AEW Dynamite was special for many reasons. Not only was it the company’s two years anniversary show, it featured a very special bout. Hikaru Shida was set to face Serena Deeb for her 50th win in the AEW. If she would’ve won, the wrestler would’ve become the promotion’s first female to win 50 matches and was set to be rewarded with a trophy.
However, her opponent had different plans in store. Deeb went on to defeat Shida and put a hold on her from getting her 50th win. After the match Deeb even went and grabbed the trophy which was to be awarded to Shida and also attacked her with it. This attack ended up breaking up the trophy to which Shida reacted. Shida took to Twitter to show off the broken trophy:
“Still 49….. #AEWDynamite”
Shida would most certainly have to wait to get her 50th win in the AEW and put herself in the history books. For now, she is still at win number 49 and will look to get her milestone as soon as possible.
What is the TBS Championship?
AEW marked their two year anniversary episode by introducing a new belt for the Women’s division. The TBS Championship has been revealed and will also be officially crowning it’s first champion in early 2022.
The belt has been created to mark Dynamite’s move to the TBS network. AEW star Tay Conti has her eyes already set on the title and has also made it known that she is up to contest for the title on her Twitter. The first champion of the TBS title will be crowned through a tournament, further details are yet to be revealed.
