AEW got the better of NXT on Wednesday but also beat Raw and SmackDown this week and Cody Rhodes reacted to that news
AEW star Cody Rhodes responded to the fact that Dynamite got the better of all WWE shows over the week.
While Dynamite has gotten the better of NXT in recent weeks, they were down on the WWE brand during the Great American Bash.
That itself was a move by WWE to counter AEW’s Fyter Fest special split over two weeks, and it seemed to have worked.
However, AEW has constantly beaten WWE in the 18-49 demographic, and did so again this week. While they easily got the better of Dynamite, there was more in store. Dave Meltzer added that AEW had defeated Raw and SmackDown in a couple of key segments.
This is the first time that AEW Dynamite has achieved that, which is something given that Raw and SmackDown have been on TV for decades.
While Meltzer brought up that fact, Cody was humbled after learning about this and was happy that they were expanding at such a rate:
Humbling stuff. We are doing the work but we are also incredibly fortunate/lucky to be expanding like this and at this rate.
This data and the Sky Italia news are making for a helluva week! 🇮🇹 🌎 https://t.co/zYYKLxYKth

AEW getting the business done
NXT vs AEW has been going on ever since Cody came up with his promotion. However, AEW seems to be taking the ratings war a little seriously with Chris Jericho also chiming in.
The key 18-49 demo is something that AEW have spoken about time and again, and they are winning this.
It will be interesting to see how AEW continues to grow as initially, they were crossing a million fans tuning in.
Those numbers have come down ever since but they are moving in the right direction. Beating Raw and SmackDown in a couple of demos is huge for the promotion, and they need to keep churning out quality shows.
