CM Punk had spoken about everyone getting an ice cream bar and the man was true to his word during his AEW debut
CM Punk finally made his AEW debut during Rampage and well, it was as over as it could be.
Rampage started off with Punk making his way to the ring after almost seven years or so being out of action.
The Best in the World came out to his music, Cult of Personality, and as expected the crowd in Chicago went wild.
Punk cut out an interesting promo as he took shots at his former employers. However, his debut also brought out the subject of an ice cream bar.
During his time in WWE, Punk wanted WWE to reintroduce their ice cream bars from the past. While WWE did bring up ice cream, this took place after Punk had left and it was just ice cream sandwiches.
This was actually a demand from Punk to Vince McMahon to being back old-school WWF ice cream bars.
What WWE didn’t do, AEW did. Punk first confirmed this was going to happen and well, the fans were given ice cream bars (h/t Cage side seats):
“One more thing. Seven years is an awful long time to wait for somebody. I appreciate everybody here who has waited. So on your way out of the United Center tonight, grab yourself a free ice cream bar on me.”
This might have been a small gift to the fans but it was great to see Punk and AEW actually take the effort to hand out free ice cream bars.
CM Punk sets his sights on a rising star
Punk already has an idea of who he wants to face and that is Darby Allin. Sting’s understudy, it seems, has caught the eye of the Best in the World and this is going to be quite a match.
Punk is also going to appear on Dynamite and that is going to get a lot of eyeballs. The Best in the World has arrived and this is going to be something special for all wrestling fans.
