Gable Steveson responded to Jake Hager of AEW after the latter placed a bet
Gable Steveson is the man right now. The wrestler is being wanted by a plethora of promotions like AEW, WWE, UFC and whatnot.
Steveson won the Gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men’s freestyle wrestling, 125kg category. Except for a close final, he bulldozed his opponents to victory.
And now it looks like every wrestler wants a piece of him.
Jake Hager of AEW took to Twitter to say that he was ready to bet $20,000 for Steveson not being able to take him down.
He wrote:
“I bet $20,000 that @GableSteveson could not take me down. Any Takers?”
A confident Steveson replied within minutes.
He replied:
“If u wanna lose 20k in 5 seconds then let’s go.”
Steveson, who is now in the limelight, has been receiving advice from plenty of athletes, regarding his career path. The most notable advice came from UFC’s Daniel Cormier, who suggested that he must take the “Brock Lesnar route.”
All the big promotions are queuing up to rope in Gable Steveson. With the WWE, UFC being the frontrunners, it looks like Bellator MMA is interested as well.
With Steveson going back and forth with Jake Hager, Bellator CEO Scott Coker chimed in saying that he’s got a cage.
“I’ve got a cage…,” Coker replied to Steveson.
In recent years, the Bellator has been gaining traction, thanks to the presence of fighters like Patricio Pitbull and AJ McKee.
It would be a Herculean task to pull off for Coker – bringing Steveson to Bellator.
