Jone Jones few days back have challenged Jake Hagger openly on social media platform
AEW star Jake Hager has talked about his potential grappling match against former UFC champion Jon Jones. The AEW star feels that things have gone quiet in that front from the end of Jon Jones.
During an interview on “Throwing Down with Renee and Miesha,” Hager said:
“I don’t know what’s going on because I’m training. I’m ready. As far as I know, it’s on, and then it got quiet on his end. I don’t know if he saw my resume and said, ‘Oh, this is an Oklahoma country boy. I don’t want to wrestle him.
“Maybe he saw I wrestled for AEW and he got a little scared. Everybody wants to work for AEW, so maybe he wants to get a job. So I’m wondering, ‘Jon, come out of hiding. Prove that your still the G.O.A.T. and I’ll put in a good word with Tony (Khan) for you.’”
History between Jake Hager and Jon Jones
Former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones announced he’ll be grappling against AEW star Jake Hager. Jones out of nowhere tweeted:
“Breaking News!! I’m excited to announce I’ll be competing for the number one grappling organization in the world, Fury Grappling!” December 9, I’ll be in New Jersey competing against WWE Superstar and undefeated Bellator heavyweight Jack Swagger.”
He then went on to say that he doesn’t know much about the AEW star. He intentionally misspelt his name from Hager to Swagger.
“Thanks, yeah I just found out today. Don’t really know much about him yet.”
However, both the tweets have been deleted by now.
The informative tweet did not go well with Hager, who expected a more accurate introduction. He also denied any concluded agreement on a possible grappling match. He tweeted:
“First of all it’s @AEWonTNT and undefeated @BellatorMMA heavyweight Jake Hager, secondly no terms have been discussed or contract signed. We can talk if the terms are right.”
So it will be interesting to see what happens next between them. Fans will really want to see both the legends together inside the ring at least once. Let’s see where this storyline heads towards.
