AEW Owner Tony Khan took to Twitter and announced the news following Dynamite on Wednesday.

During Dynamite, Matt Hardy was being kicked out of his stable. However, Dardy Allin and Sting attempted to save before being outnumbered. And then only Jeff stepped onto the ring with his iconic WWE music came along.

Jeff briefly made his entrance to save his brother and performed his famous Swanton Bomb for the first time in AEW. The Hardy Boyz are one of the greatest tag teams in the history of pro wrestling, and this will be their last run together.

While speaking to YouTuber Jared Mayers, Hardy explained his anger at being asked to go to Rehab by WWE.

“Do you know what is important to me? The family: my two daughters and my wife, they believe in me. Fuck WWE, that’s a private matter, something personal. I’m not going to fucking rehab. If they believe in me, that’s all that matters to me, my wife and my two girls.”

Jeff Hardy was released by WWE in January this year

Hardy was released by WWE back in January following an incident at a live event in Texas when he walked away during a live match. Which WWE thought was a struggle due to substance abuse issues and was even asked to do rehab.

But this was rejected by Jeff as he passed the drug tests before and after the event, and when he declined to go, the company released him.

When asked about the chance of a possible return to WWE someday down the line, he said

“Hopefully, yes, I would love to come back. They fired me and tried to make me go to rehab, but I’ve gotten over it. My dream match was between Roman Reigns, I’ve talked about that on many occasions, but then I said, ‘So you want me to leave for 28 days just to save my job? No.”
